Being able to capture experiences in the mountains on camera and express the feelings of the moment, the weather, the light oan so on is a challenge. In recent years I have made the move to digital photography and the almost unlimited increase in quality it has brought compared with 35mm film. The dynamics of digital technology and the immediate feedback means you have a better chance of taking a decent picture. However digital SLR cameras have such a range of settings that it can be overwhelming. Personally I use a Canon digital SLR's with various lenses. The 5D mark II camera is superb but I am also quite happy using a 350D as its compact size make it ideal for mountain activities. You can see a selection of my photographs from mountain trips that I feel express what I enjoy about being in the mountains. Several of the pictures are available to download as desktops, see the links on the page.

Right, even in a base such a traditional mountain hut in Norway, it can be possible to bring along the necessary technology to run an in-depth photographic holiday. Of-course, both Mac and PC users can be accommodated.

Below, a long exposure shot in the evening. I walked out of the shot just before the shutter closed.
