Photography
Being able to capture experiences in the mountains on camera and express the feelings of the moment, the weather, the light, can be difficult. In recent years I have made the move to digital photography and the almost unlimited quality increase it has brought compared with 35mm film. The dynamics of digital technology and the immediate feedback for, for example, over-exposure, means you have a better chance of taking a decent picture. However digital SLR cameras have such a range of settings that it can be overwhelming. Personally I use a Canon 350D SLR with Canon lenses such as the 10-22mm wide angle lens. I think that this camera is particularly suitable for outdoor work beacuse of its compact size but also for its very good performance. On the software side of things I use Adobe Lightroom for developing RAW files. This page shows a selection of photographs that I like and I feel express what I enjoy about being in the mountains. You are also welcome to see my photos on Flickr (see the links page).

My wife thinks it is very stupid of me to launch this photo on my website....she's right - but men er stupid...
